I will readily admit that I am not a “branding professional” – so I won’t pretend to be very academic on the topic. I think many people mistakenly think that a logo is a brand. I think that a logo is a part of the brand – a VERY VERY small part of a brand.

People often ask me “What is the secret of your success?” I can bore you by talking about where I studied, what decisions I took under difficult circumstances and so on. There are many instances in which a Foreign Parent will not be allowed to open a Dubai Branch. This is largely to do with restricted activities. For instance, if you wish to conduct business as a real-estate broker – Dubai Law stipulates that the company should be 100% owned by UAE Citizens. The law also does not allow for foreign companies to set up a branch in Dubai for real-estate brokerages. Besides the real estate license there are many other activities that are only allowed for companies that are 100% owned by UAE Citizens.

Incorporate a Dubai Branch of a Foreign Company in stead of a Dubai LLC.

When you incorporate a Dubai Branch of a Foreign Company – the Dubai Branch is the 100% fully-owned subsidiary of the Foreign Parent. You still have to appoint a local sponsor as your UAE National Service Agent. However in the role of the National Service Agent, the local sponsor will not own any shares in either the foreign parent or the Dubai Branch.
